Gaming designs work well on caps
Minecraft, Pokémon and Super Mario have symbols and characters that are easy to make out on the limited space at the front of a cap. A Creeper, Pikachu or familiar Mario design doesn’t need a big illustration to stand out, which makes gaming especially well suited to this format.
Superheroes and kids' characters bring a different style
Spider-Man, Paw Patrol, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Peppa Pig and other character worlds take caps in different directions. Superhero designs can be graphic and emblem-led, while Disney and family characters often put the character front and centre. The shape of the headwear stays the same, but the look can change a lot.
A small part of the summer wardrobe
Caps naturally pair with lighter clothes when the weather warms up. kids' shorts and kids' swimwear cover other parts of the summer wardrobe, while a cap lets the design sit as a clear detail right at the top of the outfit.
For more clothes throughout the rest of the year, kids' clothing includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, pyjamas and other clothes featuring many of the same worlds.
When you want the design to be less prominent
A cap doesn’t have to be as character-led as a t-shirt. Logos, symbols and small figures can make the reference more subtle, while a larger front design makes it more noticeable. A t-shirt can give an illustration the whole front; on a cap, the design has to fit into a smaller space. That makes logos, faces and clear symbols especially effective in this format.
For larger headwear in other sizes, there are also caps for adults, featuring more gaming, anime and TV series worlds.
