A small everyday item with big fandom appeal

A cup is one of those things you actually use again and again. That’s exactly why fandom works so well here. A familiar symbol or character can join you for your morning coffee, sit on your desk or hang out beside your console without getting in the way of the cup’s practical job. For some, it’s the Hogwarts house colours that do it; for others, a Poké Ball, Darth Vader, Mario or the Triforce.

It also makes cups a product where small design choices stand out. A dark cup with a simple emblem has a very different character from a colourful mug covered in several characters, even though both do the same job. Film, gaming and anime each have their own visual language, and the cup format makes those differences clear without taking up much space.

From Hogwarts to Hyrule

Harry Potter cups can take their cues from the houses, Hogwarts and the wizarding world, while Pokémon cups make room for both Poké Ball aesthetics and familiar Pokémon. Star Wars can be sharper and darker, Super Mario more colourful and playful, and Zelda lets the Triforce, Hylian Shield and other symbols do plenty of the work without big character portraits.

That range is exactly what makes the category interesting. You don’t have to choose between a “plain cup” and a “big character”. Between those two extremes are logos, patterns, quotes, emblems and graphics that can be subtle or very much on display.

A classic mug or one that changes when the coffee gets hot

The classic ceramic mug is the basic shape, but the design can change the experience a lot. Heat-changing mugs transform when filled with a hot drink, while more sculptural designs make the shape itself part of the look. So the choice isn’t just about which universe is on the cup, but also how much the cup itself should stand out.

More fandom in the kitchen

Cups naturally go with other products for drinks and serving. Bottles and travel mugs take the same interests out of the house, while kitchen has more practical products with designs. The result could be one favourite mug or a kitchen where games, films and TV shows turn up on more of your everyday things.
